Unicorn Horn: Powdered "unicorn" horn (actually narwhal tusk) was believed to have miraculous healing powers and was often sprinkled on food in hopes of neutralizing poison. The Virgin Queen herself was said to drink from a unicorn horn, with the vessel symbolizing chastity and purity. French vanilla, Bourbon vanilla, golden iris, powdery orris, creamy musk, and sheer silk.
A powdery vanilla flourmand.
Perfumer's Note: A friendly reminder that Bourbon vanilla has no boozy notes and isn't related to Bourbon whiskey. It is instead a reference to the royal Bourbon dynasty of France.

i absolutely love this. i’m kinda new to fragrance stuff so i was nervous to try it. i wanted a vanilla but i feel like most vanillas lean a bit too cookies and cake. i don’t really wanna smell like food. i was nervous about the powdery orris note, because i was worried it might lean old lady. it almost does, in the best way. it kinda reminded me of my grandmothers fancy bathroom, when i was a little kid, but an airy dreamlike imagining of it. the lights would be off and sunlight would stream through the window after school. i’d stand on a step to look in the mirror and open the drawer and pull out her boar bristle hairbrush. she had all sorts of creams and decorative perfume bottles and nail files and powders. i was innocent and the world wasn’t big yet and she was my best friend and we’d paint in the garden together. it’s not an “old lady” scent but it has enough of that quality to remind you of your grandma before the world was big and she was the most special person on earth and her bathroom was way more serene and beautiful than the one you shared with your brother. the vanilla she’d let you taste on your tongue in the kitchen because it was the fancy kind. the flowers she grew in her garden. there’s a bit of a bite to this one i can almost taste in the back of my throat like pepper. i’m not sure which note it comes from but it makes me want to spray it into my lungs. i love that this scent is believably alchemical. it does smell like what you’d think crushed up unicorn horn might smell like. innocent and watched over. i feel like it might layer nicely with a vanilla lotion, or a honey scented hair oil. the way this smells makes you believe a unicorn might be watching over you. this smells like lady amalthea from the last unicorn. it’s pretty and sweet in a way you might worry about someone being too naive if they smelled like this. i can’t decipher notes very well but i like that this one tells me a story.
